I.Health Care and Medical Camps
|
BUTAI educate the people about the harmful and useful effect of microorganisms through
medical camps and one to one interactions with concern experts. We explain people
through audio-video about the water-borne diseases and their impact and remedy.
People are also get information about the effect of excess chemicals present in
their food and water. Apart from this, we also help them in getting medical checkups
and distributes free medicines where ever requires. For example, BUTAI in association
with like-minded organizations organized a free medical checkup camp on Sunday,
22.04.2007, on the premises of Jindal International School, Sector-28, Rohini Delhi-110042.
General health checkup covering routine monitoring of Blood Pressure, ECG, Hemoglobin,
blood sugar , TLC/DLC, was done. Besides these, samples were obtained for HIV, Tuberculosis,
Jaundice and Urine examination. 300 persons (including 130 women and 80 children)
belonging to the disadvantaged classes of the society, residing in resettlement
colony, in the vicinity of Shahabad dairy, were covered. Besides some minor clinical
symptoms, no serious ailment was detected. Relevant medical advice was given, where
found necessary. Some persons were advised to undergo further tests/examinations.

II.Environment education, conservation and protection
|
we educate the people about the sources of non-conventional energy, their proper
utilization and future prospects through workshops and seminars.
(1) BUTAI in association with CAPF conducted one day programme on Environment
Awareness through Drawing, Painting and Modeling for children in the age group of
8-14 years at Jindal International School, Rohini, Delhi-110042 on 23.01.2008 under
the supervision and guidance of Mrs. Jagjit, senior most Scientist, National Museum
of Natural History (NMNH), Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India.
She was assisted by Shri Madan, Tandon and Ramesh Lal, Artists. The programmes aimed
to create and promote nature and environment awareness and to sensitize the children
about the role it is expected of them to play in the conservation of nature and
environment through explorative activities such as Drawing, Painting and Modeling.
About 100 children were benefited from this programme. (2)
An Environment Awareness Excursion into Yamuna Biodiversity Park in Waziabad, Delhi-110084
was conducted on 29.01.2008 for the underprivileged children in the age group of
8-14 years from Jindal International School, Bawana Road, Sector-28, Rohini, Delhi-110085.
The number of participating children was 65. There were 8 teachers including Director
of the school. (3) Seminar-cum-Workshop on solid waste
management one day workshop on Solid Waste Management was organized by BUTAI in
association with CAPF on Sunday, January 11. 2009 at Jindal International School,
Sector 28, Rohini, Delhi-110042. The main objectives of the workshop were to (i)
To create awareness on the environmental, economic and social impacts of solid waste
management and (ii) To focus attention on issues relating to segregation of waste
at source, recycling/reusing of non-biogradable waste. The target audiences were
school children, young learners, teachers, youths, housewives, NGOs, resident welfare
associations and slum dwellers. It was attended by about 200 participants.
(4) BUTAI has organized Lectures and Painting Competitions
in the Schools and this is an ongoing programme to make the students aware about
their environments. The first one was organized at Jeewan Jyoti Public
School, SBS Colony, Karawal Nagar, Delhi – 94 on Saturday, October 10, 2009. This
was attended by 50 students of classes V-VIII on the topic ‘Deforestation – causes
and remedy.’ The second one was organized at Shanti Ideal Secondary
Public School, Jai Vihar, New Delhi – 43 on Saturday, February 21, 2009. This was
attended by 47 students of classes VIII and IX on the topic ‘Causes for loss of
biodiversity.’ (5) Workshop on energy conservation:
A one day workshop on energy conservation was organized by BUTAI in association
with CAPF on Sunday, February 21, 2010 at St Giri Senior Secondary School, Pocket
25 & 27, Sector-3, Rohini Delhi. The target audiences were school children, young
learners, teachers, youths, housewives, NGOs, resident welfare associations and
slum dwellers. It was attended by about 60 participants

III. Effectuating the Right to Information
|
BUTAI has organized three RTI seminar-cum-workshops for generating awareness
about RTI among government, semi-government and common people. (1)
An Awareness workshop on RTI Act, 2005, was conducted at India International Center,
New Delhi on 18.3.2007. The objective of the workshop was to generate awareness
on the RTI Act, 2005 so that over a period of time it can become a mass movement
to reduce corruption and bring transparency, accountability and responsibility in
the functioning of the Public Authorities. It was attended by 62 participants. All
the stakeholders, namely, officers of the Government of India, Central Information
Commission, Public and Private Sectors and Civil Society participated in the workshop.
(2) BUTAI in collaboration with CAPF, Department of
Laboratory Medicine, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and ABHAS had
organized a Seminar-cum-Workshop (herein after referred to as Seminar) on the Right
to Information, Act, 2005 to promoting awareness in AIIMS, New Delhi on the 27th
May, 2007. The participants were doctors, scientists, specialists, administrators,
technicians, nurses, and employees of the AIIMS. It was attended by 60 delegates.
(3) BUTAI in collaboration with CAPF organized an awareness
Workshop on RTI Act on the 18th October, 2008 at Ordinance Factory, Ministry of
Defense, Murad Nagar, Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh-201206

BUTAI has initiated several steps towards the upliftment of people from various
walks of life. (1) BUTAI has prepared case study reports
on “Right to education: Anganwadis” of the village Chandauli,Dist. Sitamarhi, Bihar
and Socio-Economic Status of Migrant Workers of Bihar in Uttam Nagar area, Delhi
(2) BUTAI is also working for the HIV AIDS infected
people. Till date, the organization has contacted 10 peoples and obtained their
views on the behavior of society towards them. (3)BUTAI
has surveyed the Socio-Economic Status of Migrant workers of Bihar in Uttam Nagar,
